Meet J.T. Moore
for District 4 City Council
As a son of Birmingham, born and raised in Ensley, I experienced the true meaning of community. I lived on a street where everyone knew each other and, more importantly, knew me. For too long, we have allowed ourselves to drift further away from that sense of community and the time has come for District 4 to re-instill its shared accountability. With your vote, I’m committed to working alongside you as your neighbor, prioritizing what matters to all of us. My plan, Doing More for District 4, places your family’s needs first and is a plan you can count on.

Doing More for District 4
Neighborhood Safety
As a child, I can recall the feeling of security I had as I spent summer days outside or walked along Bush Boulevard. Unfortunately, that same sense of security has been abandoned. The families who reside in District 4 should not have to operate out of fear and, on the Birmingham City Council, I’ll put plans in place that focus on increasing neighborhood safety for generations to come by:
Establishing dedicated neighborhood watch committees.
Deterring crime by repairing the number of street light fixtures across the District.
Collaborating with BPD to provide resources that help maintain safer neighborhoods.
District Revitalization
Districts across Birmingham, specifically District 4, have suffered the consequences of slow economic and developmental growth long before the nation was confronted with a global pandemic. Neighborhoods and businesses are overdue for revitalization efforts and, if elected to the Birmingham City Council, I aim to implement programs prioritizing necessary improvements within the District by:
Restoring abandoned and outdated infrastructure.
Allocating funds for essential neighborhood and road renovations.
Partnering with businesses in an effort to bring new and sustainable jobs to District 4.
Citizen Participation
I am a firm believer that it takes teamwork to make the dream work. My goal is for citizens to recognize the value we can add to District 4 through our collective power. In order for this to happen we must begin to work together to solve the problems that are within our capability. If elected, I will work hand in hand with Neighborhood Associations in order to begin:
Facilitating civic engagement workshops to equip residents with the tools needed to make lasting change.
Establishing a pipeline for leadership by engaging more high school students to run for office in their Neighborhood Association.
Recognizing Neighborhood Associations within the District that are trailblazers for change.
